Scope of Work (SoW)

Project Title: SkyPlanner Implementation for IEC Plant Engineering

Prepared by: Appomax Co., Ltd.

Client: Alpha Sim Sdn. Bhd.

End-User: IEC Plant Engineering (https://iecpe.com)

1. Objective

To implement SkyPlanner as a lightweight, integrated Manufacturing Execution & Planning System across IEC Plant Engineering's operations, digitizing their entire production management process—from order creation and material planning through to scheduling, execution, and inventory control.

2. Project Scope

2.1 System Coverage

SkyPlanner will be implemented to cover:

  • All production lines and product families (initial scope assumes up to 10 active product types).

  • Execution workflows across Engineering, Fabrication, QC, Assembly, and Packing stages.

  • Real-time Gantt-based scheduling, job tracking, and inventory status monitoring.

2.2 Core Modules Implemented

Function SkyPlanner Feature
Sales & Manufacturing Orders Orders module with order items and work stages
Bill of Materials (BOM) Materials module linked to products
Routings Process Steps defined per product/job
Finite-Capacity Scheduling Arcturus AI scheduling engine (real-time Gantt)
Inventory Management Warehouse module with material/product stocks & transactions
Shop-floor Execution Operator Time logging via SkyPlanner Timer App
KPI Monitoring Built-in reports (production output, job status, delays, inventory turns)

2.3 Accounting System Integration

  • IEC’s current accounting software will remain in use for all financials, including purchasing and cost control.

  • SkyPlanner will provide purchase demand insights (material shortages, reorder needs) through inventory transactions.

  • Appomax will support integration design to transfer this data from SkyPlanner to the accounting system via CSV export or API if applicable.

3. Implementation Scope

3.1 Data Migration (Responsibility: Appomax)

Appomax will prepare and import the following master data using SkyPlanner’s CSV import functionality (docs):

  • Products and Product Groups

  • Bill of Materials (Materials per Product)

  • Process Steps / Routings

  • Initial Warehouse Inventory (stock balances for materials and finished goods)

3.2 Localization

SkyPlanner supports multi-language interfaces. IEC Malaysia may submit their desired terminology glossary to SkyPlanner for Malay language support as needed.

3.3 Shop-Floor Usage

Operators will use SkyPlanner’s lightweight MES functionality through shared tablets or shop PCs:

  • Timer App for start/stop task logging and production quantity input

  • Real-time Gantt View for work-centre status and job progress

3.4 Reporting

  • Standard SkyPlanner reports will be used for internal operations monitoring.

  • For extended analytics, SkyPlanner API (Swagger spec) will be used to:

    • Integrate with Appsmith for role-specific dashboards and operator UIs

    • Extract production data into AWS Lakehouse for advanced reporting in Amazon Quicksight

4. Out-of-Scope (for this phase)

  • Automated machine data capture (PLC/SCADA integration)

  • CRM or sales quotation workflows

  • General ledger, AR/AP, or costing functions within SkyPlanner

  • External barcode or IoT hardware integration

5. Deliverables

  • Configured SkyPlanner instance with 10 product lines

  • Full set of imported master data

  • Operator-ready Gantt and Timer screens

  • Setup of reports and integration endpoints (Appsmith & Quicksight connectivity)

  • User training for Planners, Supervisors, and Operators

  • Handover package with configuration & data mapping documentation

6. Timeline (Indicative)

Phase Duration
Kickoff & Data Preparation 1 week
System Configuration & Import 2 weeks
Operator Interface Setup 1 week
UAT & Report Integration 1 week
Go-Live & Support 1 week
